On Friday the team presented the project to the farmers of Nemunas Delta. Project manager Žymantas Morkvėnas talked about the general status of aquatic warbler population and the necessity to continue conservation efforts. He thanked the farmers for their willingness to save this rare bird and encouraged them to continue the conservation efforts. The scope of the project as well as its activities were presented. Special attention was put on the actions that will take place in the Nemunas Delta and the surrounding area. Water level regulation was highly discussed among participants of the meeting. Farmers expressed their concerns and agreed that another meeting was needed to discuss this issue further.
During the same visit the project team attended a seminar organized by the Nemunas delta regional park about the development of ornithological tourism. They also visited aquatic warbler breeding sites and project territories.
